Textured viscose fiber with a short staple and soft silky texture.
Excellent characteristics and unusual texture allow you to create stunning effects in the technique of wet felting.
Produced from wood pulp
Viscose fiber was discovered in 1891 by British scientists Cross and Bevan. It was announced as a new fiber for the replacement of silk and is sometimes called artificial silk. This fiber was widely distributed throughout the world, usually in countries with a large number of trees, as this is what provides raw materials for fiber. The starting material is wood pulp, and short cotton fibers, which are not suitable for spinning, are also raw materials. The first commercial production in America was discovered in 1910 by the American company Viscose, and the fiber became known as the viscose region, and other manufacturers followed suit.
